Ceramic artist Sandra Silberman has been working with clay since 1993. She has developed an international reputation for quality and classic design. As Dotti Potts Studio, Sandra combines modern simplicity with whimsy, producing a range of functional and decorative pieces including tableware, home decor and jewellery, as well as her beloved ‘clay quilts’.
Sandra always ensures that her items are both functional, decorative and of good quality, her philosophy is to have beautiful things that can be seen and used daily. The Dotti Potts experience is a very tactile one, Sandra loves to carve and create texture on her work in a variety of ways. Lately she has started to incorporate images and inspirational words on her pieces, hoping to inspire the user daily.
Her material of choice is durable, chip-resistant porcelain clay. Dotti Potts are irresistibly tactile, and are meant to be seen and used daily, to create an ongoing experience of delight.
Raised in South Africa, Sandra has called Canada her home since 1994. Her work is available at juried shows throughout Ontario and at her studio in Barrie.
Dotti Potts is a family run business. Gavin Silberman, Sandra's husband runs the studio with Sandra. They collaborate on many projects, Gavin is a master cabinet maker and woodworker.
