Whitney Haynes re-uses fallen birch to create unique jewellery art!

Whitney Haynes Designs works carefully using simple lines to frame fallen birch in sterling silver. The addition of custom hand stamping adds a unique touch to her stunning artwork and we are thrilled to have her exhibiting at our Artfest shows!  This year, you'll find Whitney exhibiting at our upcoming May Port Credit Show and then again at Artfest Kingston and our closing Artfest show in Sept at the Distillery.

Whitney explains her creative and natural instinct to create one-of-a-kind jewellery art made with selected pieces of fallen birch:

Making my way in the creative world, by: Whitney Haynes

"I have been splitting  my time for the last 3 1/2 years between working at my sister's gallery (Heather Haynes Gallery) where we have shared retail hours selling my designs and her Fine Art and my home studio creating and designing.  Chip and winnie keep me company during the day while my husband is at work and my kids are at school.   I balance work with yoga, outdoor adventures and I even went on a learn to surf week last spring.

What's Next?

2016 brings changes for my sister and myself.  Heather is moving the Gallery to Gananoque, Ontario, where it will open in Late spring.  I will be spending the remaining winter months developing an on line presence and e commerce store.

Local, Local, local!!!!

I love the local aspect of my business, I love my downtown, Kingston, Ontario and I support and beleive strongly in shopping local, so part of my new direction will include finding a new way to have presence in the Downtown core, whether that be pop up shows or some listings at other local shops.   I will also have lines available in the relocated Heather Haynes gallery which I consider a local venture as well."
