Artist, Deborah Toner, tells us a bit about her passion for wearable art:
"My name is Deborah Toner and I am a resident of Pickering, Ontario. I am a graduate of the University of Toronto and worked for Bell Canada for 23 years in sales and customer service training.
I left to pursue my dream of designing and creating stained glass and jewellery pieces. I registered my business in 1995 and sold my products through consignment stores, Crafters Marketplace and various Art in the Park and craft shows. I started creating fused glass jewellery in 2001 and this quickly became my new passion and now own two glass kilns. I then added semi precious stones and beads to my work and have just ventured on from there.
My jewellery is handcrafted using semi precious stones, swarovski crystal and hand made and manufactured glass beads. I take pride in the quality yet affordability of my products.
I am a member of the Scarborough Arts Council, Ontario Crafts Council and Neilson Park Creative Art Centre"
Visit Deborah at her booth this Canada Day long weekend, from July 1st to 4th in Kingston!
