Portrait of an Artisan ~ Iron Art

Formally trained in both graphic design and fine art, Robert Aucoin combined his artistic talents with his structural design and welding capabilities in 1993 to create his innovative design & manufacturing company Iron Art, located on the north shore of Loughborough Lake, 20 minutes north of Kingston, ON Canada.

Robert has attended many juried shows with his Iron Art creations. Currently at his studio/residence, clients who desire custom made hand-forged furniture, accessories, railings...almost anything made from metal, can browse through a catalogue of recently produced items, or have their own designs manufactured, often beginning with a simple description or sketch as the starting point.

As an artist, Robert remains closely connected to the art community, creating one of a kind pieces presented in art guilds such as Cornerstone, Kingston, galleries, etc, while continuing to accept residential and commercial commissions creating interiors and functional & creative furnishings & accessories that will last for years. This summer, every Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday, Iron Art can be found at the Kingston Public Market Square just outside Kingston City Hall selling one of a kind pieces and taking private commissions.
