A Conversation With Carlo Allion

Carlo is exhibiting at Artfest Toronto in Trinity Main Square at the Distillery District this Labour Day long weekend from Sept 4th-7th.  See you at the show!

Carlo Allion studied fine art, philosophy, mythology, and photography at Centennial College in Toronto from 1978 to 1981. After leaving his studies he ended up in the business sector for 16 years...moving-up the corporate ladder to various managerial positions.

In 1996, Carlo became interested in the decorative painting trend that was taking place. He began training at Ritins Studio Inc. in old world textures, faux finishing and metallic patinas after which he started his own company called Faux F/X.

He quickly gained a reputation as one of the top texturist and faux finisher in Toronto. However, his first love had always been art and artistic expression in its truest form and, by 2006, Carlo decided to hone his skills even further. He devoted two years to studying with accomplished artists while exploring a number of different mediums.

In the spring of 2008, he started showing his work that reflected his own unique personal style...an integration of sculpture and heavy textures in mixed media. His works have been well received by private collectors and corporations throughout North America.
