John Boswell with Karina Wipper are perfroming at Artfest Toronto August 3&4. Drop by the Historic Distillery District anytime 11am-6pm to listen to the delightful songs of both John and Karina. Here is some details about John:
Originally from the Eastern shores of Canada, John Boswell began his musical journey in his early teens performing across Atlantic Canada as guitarist in various bands. The start of a lifetime devoted to musical artistry.
Stranger In The Mirror, Boswell's debut CD is a reflection of this uncanny singer/ songwriter's ability to combine his musical education with the accessible rock sound he cut his teeth on. Produced by longtime friend Creighton Doane (brother of Canadian recording artist Melanie Doane) and mixed by Harry Hess, it's representative of an easily tangible sound, with a style compared by many to that of The Goo Goo Dolls and Coldplay.
The first single "Forgive Me" peaked at #36 on the Canadian BDS AC charts after only 2 weeks on the air.
To Boswell's credit along with the success of the first single "Forgive Me", the video exposure, and his appearance on Canada AM, he is pleased to have placed a song in the Canadian produced movie titled "No Exit", starring Jeff Wincott of Night Heat fame. Always in 'songwriter' mode Boswell has collaborated with Warner Music recording artist Natalie McMaster, along with producer Kevin MacMichael of Cutting Crew & Robert Plant fame. His live performance history reads like an encyclopedia, having shared the stage with the likes of Steve Earle and Tom Cochrane to mention a few.
"Caught In Your Orbit", the follow up single to "Forgive Me", received play on MuchMoreMusic. The success of the album earned Boswell a nomination for “Best Pop Artist “at the 2003 East Coast Music Awards. Boswell has had songs licensed in all of Europe and Japan. In 2006 he signed a subpublishing deal with "Marquee Music Publishing Ltd." based in Tokyo Japan. John has recently lisenced a new song titled ”Not My World” to two different artists with releases scheduled for early 2012 .
