The Kingston School of Dance has been promoting and teaching the art of dance since 1967. Located in beautiful, historic downtown Kingston, Ontario KSD’s training facility and staff delivers dance education of the highest standard to promote technical, musical and artistic development.

The Kingston School of Dance welcomes and supports individuals of all abilities, ages and backgrounds by encouraging artistic expression and personal growth through dance. We are committed to changing the community’s perception of dance as a performing art and “who” a dancer is.

KSD offers dance programs for all ages, preschoolers to adults.....

Young Dancers Program for ages 3 to 5: follows the Leap ‘n’ Learn Syllabus, compiled by child psychologists and master dance educators tailored to the physical, cognitive, social and emotional development of children at each age. Children experience the joy of movement and engaging their imaginations while mastering the motor skills they require for future dance training

Dance Plus Program for ages 6 to 12: provides the opportunity to explore a variety of dance styles: World Beat, Jazz, Broadway Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Contemporary and BBOIZ I

Ballet Core Program for ages 6 to 18: Utilizing the Cecchetti Ballet Method, the ballet mistress will encourage students to achieve their ballet goals and may have the opportunity to enter into their ballet syllabus examinations.

Pre-Professional Program for ages 13 to 18: designed for students who wish to pursue post secondary study in dance or theatre arts. Students are encouraged to achieve their classical ballet Intermediate syllabus in the Cecchetti Method.

Adult students also enjoy a broad range of dance education choices, including: Ballet, Afro- Cuban, Latin Jazz, Latin & Ballroom


Zumba, Pilates Mats, Ballet Corps, Afro-Cuban

Whether a student is pursuing dance for recreation or as a professional career, KSD instructors provide sound technical training while encouraging fun, creative exploration, rhythm and musicality. Many KSD alumni have gone on to enjoy dance careers through such venues as the National Ballet of Canada, Quinte Ballet School, Alberta Ballet, Ryerson University, York University George Brown College and The Toronto Dance Theatre!
