Whitney Haynes supports & proudly creates sustainable jewellery art!

Artist, Whitney Haynes, crafts modern Canadiana sterling jewelry for those who love simple organic design.

Whitney's nature inspired Fallen Birch Line includes Leather & Birch Wrist Wraps, Resin & Birch Earrings, Pendants, Rings, Belt Buckles and Cuff Links. All fallen birch used in this collection is gathered by Whitney unless a client has requested she use pieces from their own property to make it more sentimental.

Whitney's Art Inspired Line includes images of Canadian Fine Artist Heather Haynes' Tree Series which is the same category selection as the Birch Line. Inspirational Leather & Sterling Wraps are one of a kind funky everyday wrist wear.  Pick from a variety of nature inspired quotes that have been hand stamped onto recycled sterling metal or custom order with your favourite quote or make it super personal with your family names, dates, and so on. The leather for these wraps is hand cut and dyed. Each leather strip is unique in colour, artfully dyed to look like, in many cases, strips of wood, making this leather an integral part of the design.

Whitney has been designing and crafting sterling silver jewelry for the past six years. She has taken a few introductory silversmith courses; however, she is mainly self taught.  All of her collections have something to do with nature, whether it be images of trees, incorporating real fallen birch bark into her pieces, or hand stamping quotes about the outdoors incorporated into her recycled sterling plates.

I think of my line as “Modern Canadiana” and want to continue to build on that platform.
— Whitney Haynes

Whitney's wish list of things to accomplish in 2016 consists of the following: to develop her skills working with fine silver art clay and to create a line in this medium, and to continue to build a business that is as environmentally solid and sustainable as it can be. To date, all of Whitney's sheet metal material is collected from recycled silver as are many components, 95% of her packaging is from recycled materials, her suppliers are mainly manufacturers in North America and her leather is hand stained with an eco friendly dye product.

Although Whitney has had the luxury of selling her pieces in her sister's fine art gallery for the last four years, Whitney is now changing directions in order to expand her market by building an on line store and heading to different cities selling at shows such as Artfest.

Find Whitney this Sept from the 2nd to 5th at the Distillery at Artfest Toronto!
