Artisans Invade City Park at Artfest Kingston!

July 1st to 4th, thousands flocked to Artfest Kingston at City Park where over 150 exhibitors were showcasing their original Canadian art.  Rockin' bands performed, theatre groups enthralled the crowds with various shows, food vendors served up delectable gourmet items and fun was had by all.

This family festival was a huge success and the weather cooperated; what more could one ask for while we celebrated a "Friends Across the Water" theme collaborating Canada Day and July 4th (USA Day).

The eclectic line-up of FREE programming for kids and adults alike was amazing with artists leading a variety of unique and one of a kind art classes. Adults created prints, paintings and used powdered graphite while the kids made everything from costumes, cool music shakers and drum cans for our Artfest Parade to boats that float, water colour coffee filter crafts, drum cans and 3D paper art.

The poetry tent was filled with writers selling their autographed books, and sharing their writings during live readings, lead by published author, Bruce Kauffman.  The Kingston Library set up their gigantic board games for all to enjoy and Artfest even had stilt walking lessons each day in preparation for our grand finale on July 4th.

The Family Picnic table live auction took place on July 4th and all of the vividly painted picnic tables auctioned off!  Thanks again to Kingston Home Hardware for your partnership in this successful auction!

Now let's not forget to mention the stupendous line up of talented musicians rocking on the main stage daily at the festival!  Artfest Kingston was the place to be so if you didn't make it this year, we will be sure to see you next!
