Welcome to Studio at Greyweather - exhibiting at Artfest Kingston from July 1st to 4th!
Holly Dean's Words:
"I'm a printmaker, letterpress printer. The most visible part of my display are the prints - linocuts and wood engravings, and those tend to sell well for me at art/craft cross-over shows, like Artfest.
Subject matter ranges from fine art figure work to Sin City-esque noir, along with very classical or traditional subjects. I also hand print and hand bind limited edition books and have half a dozen titles done over the last decade or so. I've just set up a small bindery in my studio and will be producing some finely bound notebooks by the end of the month as well. Oh, and broadsides, which are letterpress posters, in my case mixing poetic text and wood engravings or linocuts.
I offer prints framed and unframed (8x10 lino $30 unframed/$60 framed) (wood engravings $60 unframed/$90 framed) and up depending on size and complexity. I have a 10x10 white tent designed for shows with mesh walls to hang art.
I print everything by hand. The blocks are cut by hand. The type for the books is set in lead type one character at a time. Even the white spaces between the words and lines are separate pieces of metal. I print on a Vandercook 219 vintage flatbed letterpress, one impression at a time."
