Michael Smith captures time & space!

Michael Smith

Inspired by the skies of Africa, the trees of Provence, and the farms of Ontario, Michael Smith's work consists of a series of contemporary abstracted and stylized landscapes in charcoal and oil on canvas.  Colours are saturated, shapes flattened, contrast is exaggerated. Michael's goal is to capture just some of the sense of time and space that exists outside of a city environment.  Michael is exhibiting at the upcoming Artfest Port Credit show!  Drop by his booth and see his stunning landscape creations!

Michael's Words: "I've been involved with art for most of my life. Born in South Africa, raised in Zimbabwe, I arrived in Canada in ‘89. Originally studying architecture, I switched to art and kept the wolf from the door as an International award-winning art director/creative director in Toronto, until moving into the country to paint full-time in 2003. Recent awards include: Ducks Unlimited Canada's Artist of the Year 2015, Winner Acrylic Section - Artist's Magazine All-Media Competition, The Thomas Wolfe Award of Honor in Newport, Virginia."
