Portrait of an Artist~Arnold Veen

Exhibiting at Artfest Toronto Aug 29 - Sept 1 - 2014

At the Historic Distillery District

Arnold Veen, a wood turner for over 25 years, selects figured woods and burls looking for inner beauty and unique grain patterns.

His creations are sought after and collected for their rustic and irregular appearances which highlight the extraordinary features found in woods from our Ontario forests and cities.

Each project has been made from green wood, hollowed into a rough form and left to stabilize and dry for approximately one year.  The form is remounted and fine tuned into a unique and creative work of art.  Lastly, a food safe finish is applied which allows the items to be functional as well as decorative.
