About the Artist:
Artist Kevin Joyce creates very detailed graphic drawings and paintings of the Canadian landscape and was interested in art at an early age.
He would often go on sketching trips along the Rouge valley in Scarborough. At the young age of 16 years old, he won 1st place for a graphite drawing he entered in the Canadian National Exhibition Toronto Ontario.
Kevin attended Wexford Collegiate Institute where he studied life drawing, mixed media and graphic design. Kevin put his artistic talent to rest for nearly two decades after a family tragedy until 2006 when he joined the Muskoka Arts & Crafts. In 200,7 he received a special recognition for his Graphite drawing titled Aging Gracefully. Also, that same year he received 2nd Place overall at the Kempenfest Arts & Crafts Festival Barrie Ontario.I
In 2008, he was selected to show his work at the 18th Annual autumn art sale held at the MC Micheal Gallery in Kleinburg Ontario. Kevin works in several mediums including Graphite, Oil and Acrylics. His subject matter ranges from old buildings and abandoned vehicles in Graphite pencil.
Kevin's work in Oil and acrylics focuses on the Epic grandeur of the Canadian landscape in breathtaking colour.
