Carlo studied fine art, philosophy, mythology, and photography at Centennial College in Toronto from 1978 to 1981. After completing his studies however, he ended up working in the business sector for the next 16 years moving-up the corporate ladder to various managerial positions.
In 1996 Carlo became interested in the decorative painting trend that was taking place. He began training at Ritins Studio Inc. in Old World Textures, Faux Finishing and Metallic Patinas after which he started his own company called Faux F/X. He quickly gained a reputation as one of the top texture and faux finishers in Toronto.
In spite of his success, Carlos’ first love had always been art and artistic expression in its truest form and by 2006 Carlo decided to hone his skills even further. He devoted two years to studying with accomplished artists while exploring a number of different mediums.
In the spring of 2008 Carlos started showing his work that reflects his own unique personal style, an integration of sculpture and heavy textures in mixed media. His works have been well received by private collectors and corporations throughout North America.
