Aug 3, 4 & 5 2013 Civic Holiday Weekend 11am-6pm Daily

Toronto Historic Distillery District

70 Artists & Artisans, plus Live Music all weekend: Enriquez Lopez (Cuban guitarist) and The Resolutionaries (Zimbabwe Marimba music with a Canadian hybrid twist)

FREE outdoor Art & Craft show features 70 artists and their handmade works from across Ontario & Quebec and is open in Toronto for one weekend only.

Powerful Design, Rich Textures, Vibrant Summer Colours, and Brilliant Originality are the overall themes for the 7th annual Artfest at the Distillery Summer Show, held Aug 3, 4 & 5. This years artists are embracing all current trends and combining new and traditional art forms: felting, recycling & up-scaling, mixed media, digital art, new textile technologies, and inventing new combinations of materials. These artists are business savvy & powerfully creative.

Held in the distinctive cobble stoned 19th century Distillery Historic District, the show features a wide range of goods; jewellery, glass, pottery, gourmet foods, body care spa products, inspired paintings and photography, handmade cards, funky furniture, clothing, wood working and more.

The producer of Artfest Toronto is Lory MacDonald, a veteran creator and producer with 25 years of experience spotting trends and finding new talent.

“ Summer is about being outside, and enjoying our favorite things. Artwork and handmade Canadian products are spectacular in a naturally lit outdoor setting. Artists are masters at making things look beautiful, interesting and colourful. With the numerous challenges taking place around the world, artists explore, interpret and express in uplifting ways. They take us along for the journey by making new looks and products that seem to reflect exactly what humanity needs right now. These are real things that you can touch, use, wear, taste, and decorate your home with.

Come down to the show and reconnect, walk the cobble stone lanes, listen to live music and savor the gourmet & visual delights.”

Lukian Glass Studios is a dynamic duo husband and wife team that creates stunning blown glass art pieces. Alfie blows the glass, then Gail takes it up a notch with delicate detailed hand painting. She is a story teller who mixes fantasy and fairy tale imagery to create totally unique collectable art.

Textile artist Elina Ten makes magic with felting, and it is not the kind we grew up with. She weaves her own felt with a complex process of heat and agitation. Wall pieces and textured three-dimensional vessels are the results.

Revive is all about reviving old into new! Beautiful textures and patterns are tastefully recreated into wearable ART. Making YOU the piece of art!

Barnstorm Leathers is showing his new line of gorgeous duffle bags, purses and stylish belts. Talk about quality. And you can pick up a leather jacket as well. Tailor made to fit perfectly.

Lory MacDonald is not only the show producer; she is an artist as well. Her painting style is inspired by elements from nature, and then transformed into colourful, kinetic, mixed media wall art. Stop by Booth D18 to say hello and see her paintings.

The diversity and quality of the show makes it a ‘must see’ for Toronto arts lovers, collectors, home decorators, special event and wedding gift hunters.
