Soulstack has been Nominated for a total of 8 Maple Blues Awards, including Electric Act of the Year, Drummer of the Year (7x Won!), Vocalist (2x) and Keyboard Player.
Soulstack has been presenting stellar performances at Canada’s largest blues/roots-centric music festivals, including Montreal Jazz, Calabogie, Mont Tremblant, Kitchener Blues, as well as a recent trip to Holland for an appearance at Moulin Blues.
Soulstack has released 3 full length studio CD's: 'Big Red' 2012, 'Five Finger Discount' 2013 and self-titled 'Soulstack' 2015, and in 2017 will release a live acoustic video performance on Bluray & CD'Live and Acoustic' from 2016 plus an Electric 'LIVE CUTS' release in March 2017.

These releases are constantly busting up the North American Roots and Blues Charts and Airways.
Soulstack's acclaimed stage performances keep the crowds fully entertained with a their modern roots music in nouveau-retro-style, inspired by sweaty sounds and throbbing rhythms, all performed with deep intensity, wild conviction, greasy organ, sweet tremolo-soaked guitar, and heartbreaking harmonies.

On the Sunday Melody Fair joins us with beautiful guitar rhythms and sweet melodies. David Wipper has a solid background in recording and concert performance. You will recognize his distinctive style from Grammy Award winning hit song Black Velvet and other hits by Amanda Marshall, Rita Coolidge and Return Trip. Hazel Wipper hails from folk band Jesse and later the Decades and sings gorgeous lead with her partner David in Melody Fair. They perform a wide range of folk and rock classics showcasing David’s stellar guitar skills and Hazel’s amazing voice.

Music at Artfest Kingston 2017

The Artfest music program continues to be a big draw for visitors to the festival. Each year, we look for exciting musical talent to perform on the stage bringing together both local and touring bands. The Artfest Live Music creates an atmosphere that entices people to stay at the event all day long. Visitors can tour the artists and artisans exhibit booths, then take a break, listen to some tunes and have refreshments at our new Craft Beer & Wine tent located right by the stage and food  area. The festival theme for Artfest 2017 is Imagine Canada: Explore our Future. Come and join us for three days of awesome tunes: Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Thorn & Roses

Thorn and Roses is a three piece amalgamation of powerful vocals and intricate instrumentation. This trio features a  blend of uncompromising three part harmonies, unique arrangements of country, classic rock and pop standards, and an energy so abundant it promises to have audience members on their feet from the first note to the very last.

Residing in various parts of Southwestern Ontario, Jay Riehl, Linsey Beckett and Janna Leduc are all respected music professionals in the Canadian music industry.  Individually, they each hold numerous accolades and successes, as solo artists and within various groups, creating a strong and diverse foundation for which Thorn and Roses was formed. This particular combination is something that they are all very excited about; a unique musical experience that transcends the borders of genre, promising to entertain music lovers of all kinds.

This dynamic trio features Linsey Beckett on fiddle and lead/background vocals, Janna Leduc on guitars and lead/background vocals, and Jay Riehl on an impressive simultaneous right handed bass keyboard and drums, as well as background/lead vocals.

Trilogy These three well respected, multi-talented, top music industry professionals blend their talents to faithfully and accurately reproduce the sound of the Artists they pay homage to. From James Brown’s funk, to the heart tugging “ Angel Eyes “by Jeff Healey.  

This will be one of the most exciting bands you will see in a very long time. The recreation of the music and their three part harmonies are second to none. Prepare to dance while we celebrate Canada Day with Trilogy - on the main stage, from 2:00pm-6:00 pm.  Check them out!
